Its funny we live in a world where we have to hire a lawyer for food stamps and then wait for services. why do we also have to hire a lawyer for social security, and why is so hard to get housing in the cities we are born in. Why is it that we are told to move out of town, what is going on with the world today when our fall back system for Americans is on hold. My rent goes up every year because more wealthy people live in the state and the poor people have to pay for it. I know if I was wealthy and could afford to own my own home that the rent shouldn't automatically go up for everyone else. I am finding the system really hard to work with. Waiting for section eight so I don't have to keep paying $1000 a month for a tiny apartment. Waiting for food stamps denials because we work and they don't think working people should need food. Then getting told to get a lawyer while I am waiting for a legal guidance I enjoy the fact that my financial aid may be pulled because we make over $25,000 and then I enjoy thinking about getting to work fulltime and paying for daycare expenses and then thinking about how the earned income credit decreases gradually as your child gets older helps me come to the conclusion that life isn't fair. Even if i do get into affordable housing every year they want your taxe returns so if theres ever a chance to get ahead or save even enough for a down payment on anything they all have full legal rights to raise your rent! Thats funny isn't it we trust the government with our funds so we can have the american dream that no longer exists. I want help paying my rent, I want to be able to afford food every week I want to be able to help others at one point. Women really have to put themselves out there for any help at all.

Interesting topic, for a year this site has not brought me any assistance other than people trying to sell me grant books or cd's. I haven't heard any success stories or seen anyone get help. I personally don't know what this site is for? *moral support*

I do hope people are able to get some assistance as I also read in other sites that people are selling there personal items just to pay for oil. Some people can't afford food and resort to prostitution and in my town the lines for the food pantry are out the door.

I don't know if its sounding desparate or just sarcastic but I don't believe things are going to get any better. The world food crisis is horrible, no one is talking about making it any better. The oil shortage isn't leading to new ways to heat our apartments its just taking more money out of our pockets. Why can't the general public get together and try to talk about ways to solve these problems? Its because most of the population is making under 30,000 a year and working two jobs just to put food on the table.

Its not just that its also the credit system that sucks, with interest rates that should be illegal. Then if you don't have good credit you can't even get a credit card to purchase food, so what I am saying is there are more poor people to every rich person and we shouldn't be silent!  I can't even afford to drive my car and I know gas prices are 6 a gallon in other countries but the corporations try to make it seem like its our fault for purchasing gas gusseling automobiles that they advertised to us. Interesting that now during our recession that purchasing new vehicles that are fuel efficent is a priority!

This is just one long rant since I haven't gotten in touch with anyone who has had anything to offer other than grants that are a scam. The work at home jobs, where you need to pay stink also what am I supposed to work 23 hours a day just to pay the bills. I was born, lost both my parents and lived in foster care took care of myself until I met my husband who I have been with for 14 years. We still struggle and try hard for our son he's all that matters. If anyone else is in my same boat we try really hard for our children and thats all. Once your a parent theres nothing else more important, not cable, not oil, not credit cards, not your apartment, just making sure your little one is clean and fed. I hope you can all hang in there. There are more of us than the wealthy and no one ever gives out hand outs this site is just to see how many poor people are this niave.
